We know that building resilient landscapes and food systems is essential for the long-term prosperity of Australia, and Australian farmers have the potential to transform the agricultural sector.
Australia needs food and farming systems that actively regenerate our landscapes. With a focus on sustainable food production, carbon sequestration, water cycles and improving biodiversity, we can heal our landscapes, renew small and large water cycles, build social and community cohesion above and below ground. Our vision supports profitable, resilient and harmonious Australian communities that are producing thriving ecosystems and nutrient-dense food.
We believe that challenges across our food and farming sector can be approached collaboratively and that policy shaped by and for farmers, can address the root of our collective challenges.
We want to see government policy that:

55% of Australian land is used for agriculture. We need to work together to support our farmers to be a force for change.
Cooperation between stakeholders across food and farming systems is key to delivering a sustainable farming future. Collaboration is also needed to help farmers and the broader food system withstand shocks (both financial and climatic) and build resilience.

Agriculture can be a crucial driver to positively address climate change in Australia.
Through regenerative food, fibre and landscape management, we can increase the health of Australian farming landscapes and the health of the people it supports by drawing down carbon, improving soil health and increasing biodiversity.

Livestock have a key role to play in regenerative, mixed farming systems.
We want to see appropriately managed livestock be part of the solution for climate change, nature and health.

Local abattoirs and food processors are an essential part of the food supply chain and have an opportunity to create jobs and reinvigorate regional areas.
Investing in, and supporting regional infrastructure and distribution networks will help strenghten Australia's food security and is key to providing farmers with stable market access.

If we don’t change the way we farm, our long-term export future is at risk.
In a volatile world facing the effects of climate change and turbulent politics, Australian farmers have a unique opportunity to access new markets to remain globally competitive.

Soil is one of our most important natural resources. Without it, life as we know it would not be possible. What if farming could help rebuild our soils, restore landscapes and build healthy and thriving ecosystems?

Food matters, to everyone, everywhere.
We need a food system that is fair for everyone - for farmers, food enterprises and everyday people. It’s time to tackle the persistent unfairness in the way we grow, make and eat food.

How do we know we’ve got it right?
If we are to transition our food and farming systems, we need to measure our impact on things like sequestered carbon, renewed soil and water cycles, social connections in regional communities, improved farm returns, production of highly nutritious food and the reduced incidence of chronic disease.
We acknowledge the Traditional Owners of the land on which we operate and pay our respects to Elders past and present. We recognise their continuing connection to land, waters, and culture, and honour their deep knowledge and storytelling traditions that have shaped this land for generations.
